The Tohoku Expressway, which terminates in Aomori, is known as the Silicon Road due to the presence of many semiconductor-related factories utilizing silicon along its route, contributing to its logistics.

In the development, production, and application of electronic devices represented by semiconductors, a broad knowledge of science and technology is necessary to address challenges, including achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Faculty of Science and Technology of Hirosaki University comprises six departments organically advancing education and research aimed at solving various societal challenges through science and technology.

Additionally, as affiliated research facilities have been established to engage in education, research, and social contribution activities integrating engineering and science.

The Faculty of Science and Technology offers curricula to acquire the fundamentals of science and technology, along with curricula and educational programs that contribute to fostering talent for innovation and enhancing scientific and technological literacy. We sincerely hope that all students studying at the Faculty of Science and Technology of Hirosaki University will firmly determine their direction and lead the future of our regions, Japan, and the world with the power of science and technology.
