Zona Korvergensi Subtropik

Zona Konvergensi Subtropik (ZKS) yaitu Baiu frontal zone dan bagian subtropik dari Zona konvergensi Pasifik Selatan dan Zona Konvergensi Atlantik Selatan (ZKAS) merupakan suatu sistem presipitasi subtropik yang unik,  berasal dari  perpanjangan konveksi kuat monsun tropis ke arah barat. Presipitasi dari Baiu frontal zone dan ZKAS merupakan sumber daya air yang penting bagi Negara-negara di Asia dan Brazil. Kami telah meneliti fenomena ini dan hubungannya dengan sirkulasi monsoon, arus laut hangat dan pengaruh pemanasan global terhadap ZKS.

TRMMiTropical Rainfall Measuring Missionjdan GPM(Global Precipitation Measurement)

TRMM adalah satelit pertama yang dilengkapi radar presipitasi. TRMM telah memberikan banyak informasi terkait pengamatan presipitasi di daerah tropik dan subtropik sejak tahun 1997. Kami juga telah menemukan fakta-fakta menarik melalui analisa presipitasi dalam skala besar,  kilat (lightning), panas laten dari  warm rain dan juga fenomena skala meso seperti Taifun dan Baiu front. Kami akan meneruskan penelitian tentan presipitasi  global dengan menggunakan data dari satelit  terbaru yaitu GPM. Satelit ini telah mengorbit pada awal tahun 2014.
